Prevention From Domestic Violence

SAJAG is committed to eliminating domestic abuse and assisting survivors in the forest communities of Mahasamund and Baloda Bazar districts. Over the last three years, we have reported 389 incidents of domestic abuse, highlighting the critical need for intervention and assistance in our communities.

Our Approach:

Shelter & Safe Accommodation: We run shelters that provide safe and confidential housing for victims of domestic abuse and their children. Our shelters provide a safe setting for survivors to seek sanctuary from abusive situations, obtain necessary assistance, and plan their next steps toward safety and independence.

Legal Support

01

Throughout the legal procedure, survivors can get complete help from our team of legal specialists. This includes assistance in obtaining legal aid, managing family court processes, and seeking protective orders. We work together with law enforcement agencies and legal aid groups to guarantee that survivors have access to high-quality advocacy and legal counsel .

Therapy and Support Services

02

To assist survivors in recovering from the trauma of domestic abuse, reestablishing their sense of self, and creating coping strategies for their mental health, we provide both individual and group therapy sessions. Our licensed counselors provide a secure environment for trauma survivors to process their experiences, express themselves, and get continuous support as they work toward recovery .

Community Outreach and Understanding

03

To increase public understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on people, families, and communities, we run community outreach initiatives. We inform people of the community about the warning signs of domestic violence, services available for survivors, and the significance of speaking out against abuse through workshops, seminars, and public awareness campaigns. We work to establish a zero-tolerance culture for domestic abuse in our communities by opposing negative attitudes and encouraging wholesome relationships.
